Large-Scale Fermentors
Large-scale fermentors, modular in design, allow ready customization, quick delivery, and the ability to expand system capabilities as needs change. The sterilize-in-place (SIP) BioFlo® Pro Fermentors utilize robust, industry-standard components for dependable operation, and a programmable-logic controller that can be validated for easy integration into any production facility. First in the series to be developed is the 500 liter (total volume) fermentor. These systems feature a compact frame, designed to minimize space requirements, with open piping for easy access during operation and routine maintenance. Use of flush-mounted vessel connections in hard-to-clean places minimizes contamination risk. Options include SIP/CIP sterile sampling valves, automatic air-flow control, gas overlay, dual inlet air filters, oxygen supplementation, automatic back pressure control, Redox, and vessel volume via differential pressure.
