The FDSS6000 cell-based assay system collects assay and orthogonal data in the same experiment. For example, library compounds that either quench fluorescence of a given dye or autofluoresce are identified using both Fura-2 AM and Fluo-4 AM loaded cells. Further, calcium mobilization and membrane potential responses are simultaneously collected in the same cells using Fura-2 AM and membrane potential dyes. Esterase activity, indicating cell integrity, is measured using Calcein Blue-AM while calcium mobilization data (Fluo-4 AM loaded cells) is collected.
