High Capacity Rotor Has Tissue Culture Applications
Labnet International's swing out rotor increases sample capacity of Hermle Z400 and Z383 series centrifuges. This four-bucket rotor utilizes a variety of polypropylene carriers to accommodate tubes from 5 to 500 ml, and can be used to centrifuge microplates. Individual carriers (except the plate carriers) can be hermetically sealed with see-through autoclavable lids. For common tissue-culture applications, a maximum of twenty-eight 50 ml conical tubes or forty-eight 15 ml conical tubes can be centrifuged at one time. The maximum speed of the new rotor in the Z400 centrifuges is 3500 rpm, 2547 × g, while in the Z383 series maximum speed is 4500 rpm, 4210 × g.
