The NCB-D provides personnel, product, and environmental protection in addition to internal contamination control. The cabinet is designed for biological work involving agents of low and moderate risk (Biosafety Levels 1, 2, or 3). Applications for the NCB-D include microbiological studies, cell culture and toxicology. A vertical flow cabinet, the unit includes design features to enhance containment while inhibiting cross contamination and exposure. HEPA filters located directly under the work surface ensure that all positive pressure areas are free from particulates. Exhaust air is removed directly from the rear of the work area for use in work involving minute amounts of gasses, vapors, and organic solvents.
