Corning Life Sciences has expanded its line of products treated with the CellBIND Surface with the addition of 6-, 12- and 24-well plates, 35-, 60- and 100-mm style dishes, and the 235-cm2 expanded surface flask. The surface provides consistent, uniform cell attachment across well, dish and flask bottoms, allowing for higher cell yields. The technology uses a microwave process to modify the polystyrene and incorporate more oxygen into the cell culture surface, rendering it more hydrophilic and increasing stability. Increased stability facilitates consistent cell attachment as cells are less likely to be removed during washing steps and media changes.
