The HT Electroporation System with the ECM 830 square wave generator transfects cerebellar granule and hippocampal neurons. This electroporation method requires a small number of cells and easy-to-prepare reagents, and can be rapidly performed using multichannel pipettes. Transfection efficiencies range from 25 to 40%, and cell viability is 35 – 40%. The method can be used to transfect cDNA plasmids, shRNA and siRNA into neurons.
