Inclining Rodent Treadmill
Rodent Treadmills, for studying exercise physiology, gas metabolism or endurance in rodents, are available in a number of different configurations, including two, four and six lanes. Available features include manual or motorized adjustment of incline and optional airtight runways for metabolic studies. A continuous conveyor type belt and DC servo motor with optical encoder allow control of user selected speed from 0 to 100 meters per minute. Several features assist in animal acclimation time. The front of the treadmill is a dark acrylic that the animals find comforting, and independent grids are built into each channel to shorten training time. The design of the rear grid bars and treadmill belt provides tactile warning that the animal is approaching the grid bars.
