DNA purification application has been developed for the proprietary Microcon® 30 centrifugal filter unit. Originally designed to concentrate, desalt, and purify nucleic acids prior to sequencing or cloning, the Microcon 30 device is equally suitable for DNA purification prior to microarray analysis. It removes unincorporated fluorescent nucleotides and contaminating salts from fluorescent DNA probes without the use of organic solvents. The disposable device incorporates a low-binding regenerated cellulose membrane and an inverted-spin sample transfer method to deliver maximum recoveries. In addition, patented dead-stop technology eliminates the risk of sample dryness. The Microcon 30 device rapidly concentrates 50 to 500 μl of samples and offers convenient sample storage of filtrate in a standard microfuge collection tube.© 2008 Advantage Business Media.
