The FW-1000 filter wheel uses a closed-loop DC servomotor to provide high speed and low vibration operation. A high-resolution rotary encoder provides positional feedback and utilizes memory to store programmable filter sequences and delays. Motion can be triggered by a TTL input pulse as well as by standard RS232 commands. Wheels are available to hold eight 25-mm, or six 32-mm, filters, and multiple wheels can be controlled from a single controller. The unit offers cycle times of six moves a second and has MTBF of over 100 million cycles.
