RX™ Rapid Access Rotors for SORVALL® superspeed centrifuges replace the conventional, dual knob fixed-angle rotor cover with an easy to use, single knob/push button rotor lid assembly that can be attached or removed in seconds while the rotor body is in the centrifuge chamber. Once the rotor body has been attached to the centrifuge drive spindle, the rotor remains securely locked in the centrifuge chamber between spins. The RX rotor lid assembly can be snapped on or off using a fast, single-step process that requires just one hand. RX rotors do not need to be re-secured to the drive spindle between spins, reducing the risk of improper rotor lock-down. After secure attachment to the centrifuge drive spindle, they can be run safely without the lid assembly in place. They are available in a range of colors and offer the performance characteristics of their conventional SORVALL fixed-angle rotor equivalents. Kits are available to convert specified conventional rotors to the Rapid Access configuration.
